This beautiful rifle is all business. It was built for harvesting medium to big game at extended ranges. This rig is heavy enough to settle in for that long-range shot, but still light enough to carry all day if required. Chambered in the flat-shooting, hard-hitting, and ever popular 300 (WSM) Winchester Short Magnum, it's capable of thumping anything in the western hemisphere. A deadly accurate, tough, and reliable hunting gun built on the Howa 1500/Weartherby Vanguard action with a Rock Creek Match Barrel. It's matched with a crystal-clear German made Stiener Predator Scope, complete with a Kenton Industries Custom Speed Turret for reliably taking trophies out to 800 yards.

Action: Howa 1500 Right-hand, Chrome-Moly, Short-Action, Push Feed. Complete Blueprinting/Accounting/Truing of the action and bolt, along with final hand-lapping of lugs and complete action-smooth. Added a Rear Bolt-Sleve for accuracy and custom tuned it to cam into place for a precise and consistent bolt lock-up. Features a polished M-16 Style Factory Extractor, a slightly re-machined/extended ejector for extra power, along with a custom over-sized bolt-knob for quick and easy cycling. Custom bolt-jeweling was done by hand, scope base holes were opened up to a beefy 8-40 screws, along with a custom sculpted rear-tang and scalloped receiver for the "Milford Hills" emblem.

Barrel - Rock Creek Match-Grade Stainless 5R Barrel, Sporter Contour #4, 1 in 10 twist, finished length 24.5" (bolt to face crown), 1/2-28 threaded muzzle, stenciled with caliber and "Soltis Rifles" emblem.

Stock - Utility-Grade Howa Factory Walnut. However, even though this is  very cost-effective piece of walnut, its varied features make it quite beautiful and very unique. The stock was shaped to be sleeker, lighter, and more dramatic than the factory curves; finished completely by hand, 100% natural hand-rubbed oil finish (no stain or any other coatings). Added a patriotic Second Amendment coin inletted into some African Cocobolo background wood. Used the same Cocobolo for the custom for-end tip in an over sized Schnable style, along with a Cocobolo grip cap with a Jerry Fisher steel cover.

Bottom Metal - Howa Factory One-Piece BDL Bottom Metal; added a slightly over sisized internal magazine box (2.950")for more cartridge space, made sure it floats and the attached it to the bottom so its quiet.

Muzzel Brake - Harrell 4-Port Tactical Stainless Steel 1/2-28 "Timed Muzzle Brake, locktited on (although the brake can be removed if a suppressor is more desirable); excellent "moderate" brake, baffles at 90 degrees for less concussion/noise on the shooter, angled up to eliminate muzzle-flip; efficiently reduces recoil making it really enjoyable to shoot even at the bench.

Rings/ Bases - Tally Aluminum One-Piece Rings, Medium/30mm.big 8-40 screws; custom milled/shaped for a more unique/stylish look. Scope was Professionally Mounted; rings were hand-lapped and marked, perfectly aligned using alignment rods and then base screws were locktited to the receiver , scope was leveled correctly off the receiver race-way, with top screws torqued properly and finally bore sighted.

Trigger - Howa 2-Stage HACT Trigger, three-position Safety, re-machined sear, tuned and polished; safe and reliable hunting trigger, about 2lbs. with a grood break and very little creep.

Finish - Complete Refinish/Rustproofing; all the Chrome-Molly steel was Parkerized, Stainless and Aluminum were sand blasted and then all coated with DuraCoat in Tactical Black for a no-glare finish.

Scope - Stiener Predator 4 (German made) 50mm Objective 4-16X 30mm tube, E3 Illuminated Reticle with Wind-Holds, Parallax Adjustable and added a Kenton Industries Custom Elevation "Speed" Turret; lets you quicklyand easily dial your elevation for extended range shots out to 8ooyds with Nosler TROPHY Grade 300wsm 180gr AccuBond Ammunition.

Accuracy - Range Sessions/Testing; Barrel Break-in; Function/Safety and Scope checks were all done and verified. Rifle accuracy/groups/zero were completed using Nosler Trophy Grade 300WSM 180gr AccuBond Ammunition with 1/2MOA consistency.
